Incarnate Word Formation Symposium

Well, after all this time of silence I'm back into the blogging world and I'll post in English!

So, we hosted the annual Incarnate Word Formation Symposium. Each year Sisters in formation from the United States and Mexico gather together to share and learn different aspects of our Spirituality. This year's theme was "Back to the Future: Heart to Heart." The idea was to show how we need to go back to our roots and take from the richnes of our Incarnational spirituality legacy to be able to go into the future.

Saturday morning we had presentations by the different communities. The assignment was to interview the elder memebers of our communities and ask about the Faith History of each individual community. It seems that many things are held in common like trials and tribulations but great faith, courage and trust in our Incarnate Word. Every community presented a PowerPoint, that was really moving, to see how we are part of the same Order and how, no matter where we are, we belong together. I wish I knew how to post the presentations. If anybody knows how, please let me know. (Our powerpoint has videoclips)

On Saturday afternoon we had a presentation on "Ubi Caritas Est" by Pope Benedict XVI by Sister Annette Wagner (from our community.) But the best part of it all was the recreation! We had Karaoke night. I had oldies for the nunnies like Patsy Cline, Elvis, and musicals. We also had music in Spanish for our Mexican and Mexican American Sisters (including your humble servant :) Anyway, we had a blast, the whole weekend was great.

Thank you, Jesus for making our Incarnate Word family so large!
